Terms of sale and use
Terms
Last updated 29 August 2026
This site is run by one artist selling prints of her own paintings. These terms apply when you order from it or use it. Ordering means you accept them. Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer.
The seller is the artist trading as The Secret Artist NW5, contactable at secretartistnw5@gmail.com. She trades under that name; her personal details are held by her payment provider and are not published.
Orders
Adding something to the basket is not a purchase. An order becomes a contract only when it is confirmed by email. Until then it can be declined — most often because a piece is unavailable, a price was shown wrongly, or the order looks fraudulent.
If a price is obviously wrong, the order will not be fulfilled at that price. You will be told and offered the correct price or a full refund.

Prices include VAT where it applies and exclude delivery unless stated. Prints from £45 are supplied unframed; framed prints are listed separately. A pack of postcards is eight postcards of the same image. Card payments are handled by Stripe; card details are never seen by this site or by the artist.
Delivery
UK postage is a flat £15 per order, however many items it contains. Alternatively you can collect your order free of charge from Kentish Town Library; you will be emailed when it is ready.
Framed A3 prints are collection only, because frames of that size tend to break in the post. An order that includes one must be collected.
Orders can be posted to UK addresses only. Delivery outside the United Kingdom is by arrangement — email before ordering. Prints are made to order, so allow up to 14 days for dispatch, longer at busy times.
Risk passes to you on delivery. If something arrives damaged, send a photograph within 14 days and it will be replaced or refunded.
Cancelling and returns
For most orders you have 14 days from delivery to change your mind, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and a further 14 days to return the item. Email secretartistnw5@gmail.com to start it. Return postage is yours unless the item was faulty or wrong; refunds are made within 14 days of the item coming back.
Commissions and montages are made to your specification and are not covered by that right, once work has begun. For a montage, payment is taken when you order and a proof of the layout is emailed to you for approval before it is printed. That is the normal exception for personalised goods. Faulty work is of course still put right.
Copyright
Every painting, and every image of it on this site, is the artist's own work and remains her property. Buying a print buys the print. It does not transfer copyright or any licence to reproduce the work.
You may not, without written permission:
- copy, scan, photograph or reproduce the paintings or the images on this site;
- print, sell or distribute them, in any size or medium;
- use them commercially, including in advertising, packaging or merchandise;
- use them to train machine learning or generative models;
- alter them or present derivative work as the artist's.
Personal, non-commercial enjoyment of a print you have bought is naturally fine — hang it, photograph your own wall, give it as a gift. Reproducing it for sale is not.
Using this site
Don't attempt to break into it, overload it, scrape it wholesale, or use the contact and order forms to send anything unlawful, abusive or unsolicited. Access may be blocked where any of that happens.
Liability
The site is offered as it is. Reasonable care is taken to keep it accurate and available, but it is not guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free, and colours on a screen never match ink on paper exactly.
Liability is limited to the amount you paid for the item concerned, and does not extend to indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that goods be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
Complaints and law
Email secretartistnw5@gmail.com and you will get a reply. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
